Forza Horizon 2 will include more than 200 cars at launch, and developer Playground Games is slowly unveiling them all. This week's reveal brings another 15 rides, most of which none of us will ever drive outside the Xbox One exclusive racing title.

Real-life open-world racing might not be as exciting as one would imagine, what with the documented fact that people become psychopaths while driving, and, you know, all that pesky traffic, so the world of video games is the best venue through which to explore casually cruising at 300kmh behind the wheel of a Bugatti Veyron.

In any case, as the Xbox Wire points out, nearly all the cars introduced this week have a long-standing racing history: 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO, 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, 2012 Hennessey Venom GT, 2013 Ariel Atom 500 V8, 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe, 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, 1971 Plymouth Cuda 426 HEMI, 1977 Ford Escort RS1800, 2013 Mazda MX-5, 1970 Nissan Datsun 510, 1980 Renault 5 Turbo, 1974 Toyota Celica GT, 2003 Volkswagen Golf R32, and 1983 Audi Sport quattro.

The four cars featured in the screenshots below have a particularly notable history. The racing version of the 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO won a record six manufacturer championships, as well as a grand total of 46 individual victories over the course of its career, due to its many innovations, hailing from years and years of rally competition experience.

The 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II is all business on the inside, with the expected polish and luxury, and all business in the track as well, with bigger brakes, a radical rear-wing and matching body kit and a three-way adjustable suspension, not to mention a 35 horsepower boost.

The Veyron Super Sport stands alone even in the realm of hypercars, holding the record for the fastest car in the world, with unparalleled over-the-top speed and horsepower matched by few in the world.

The 2012 Hennessey Venom GT is based on the Lotus Elise, only with the Venom's 1,000 horsepower, and twin-turbo motor and carbon fiber composite chassis that allows it to do 0-200 mph in 15.3 seconds.

Given that little more than 500 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 were ever made and the Hennessey Venom GT is a very limited edition vehicle, with only five being built this year, Forza Horizon 2 is most likely the only chance most of us will get of ever seeing some of these supercars in action.

Forza Horizon 2 is set up to tear up the countryside of Southern Europe on September 30, headed exclusively for the Xbox One computer entertainment system from Microsoft.
