No plans to bring the add-ons to Xbox 360, apparently

Forza Horizon 2 will receive downloadable content and Forza Rewards only on the Xbox One version of the game, as apparently developers Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have no plans to bring the bonus add-ons to the Xbox 360 edition.

The Forza Motorsport series successfully made the jump to the Xbox One platform last year, when Turn 10 rolled out Forza Motorsport 5 only to owners of that platform. This year, however, Forza Horizon 2 appeared for the Xbox One, from Playground Games and Turn 10, but also for the Xbox 360, from UK studio Sumo Digital.

Forza Horizon 2 is getting DLC only on the Xbox One

Unfortunately, it seems that Xbox 360 owners of the game have drawn the short stick when it comes to downloadable content, as a statement from Turn 10's Brian Ekberg on the official forums confirms that all DLC is currently only coming to the Xbox One version of Horizon 2.

According to Ekberg, the first add-on, the Mobil 1 Car pack, is only on the Xbox One because Turn 10 and Playground are supporting just that platform with new content for Forza Horizon 2.

"Earlier today we announced the Mobil 1 Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One. This is the first monthly DLC pack for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 and we’re excited to bring you more cars on a monthly basis," he reveals.

"I’ve seen a lot of questions from community members about certain features and functionality on the Xbox 360 version of the game, including questions regarding DLC and Forza Rewards for the 360 version of the game. To clarify: We are currently planning to release DLC only for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2."

Forza Rewards are also only valid on the Xbox One

What's more, longtime Forza fans can only get the Forza Rewards credits or cars on the Xbox One platform of the game, and their progress in the Xbox 360 version of the racing experience won't count to their overall Forza score.

"Also, Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars. In addition, progress in the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards."

This is quite surprising, especially since neither publisher Microsoft nor its developers has said anything about this ahead of the game's launch.
