Forza Horizon 2 can coexist alongside Forza Motorsport 5, according to franchise founder Turn 10 Studios, as both games cater in different ways to car and racing fans from around the world.

Forza Motorsport 5 appeared last year right alongside the Xbox One next-gen console, delivering a top-notch racing experience that struck a good balance between arcade handling and simulator mechanics, while taking full advantage of the power locked inside the new console from Microsoft.

This year, developer Playground Games is going to debut Forza Horizon 2, with the help of the founders at Turn 10, for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

The two games can certainly coexist, as they both have different focus points, at least according to Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt, who has talked with GRTV about the upcoming games.

According to him, both titles cater to racing fans but do so in different ways, which ensures players won't get tired with the series and move on to other things.

"There's different qualities that each game has. One is about precision and accuracy, it's incredibly detailed. And the other one's about freedom and fun and exploration. I think they don't necessarily appeal to different gamers, but they appeal to people who love games and love cars, in different ways."

What's more, Greenawalt also confirms that the Forza series overall is about loving cars and pushing them to their limits. As such, it was easy for manufacturers like Rolls Royce to get involved, as they were assured that their creations wouldn't be mistreated in the games.

"I do believe that Forza Vista actually played a big part. That level of detail, the incredible level of detail; you can right up close and see even the imperfections of the car. That level of craftsmanship I think has gotten the attention of a lot of execs in the car industry and has sort of changed the rules of the game, of what they think a game should be."

"Is a game just about thrashing their car, using it as a weapon or a tool? And we've made a clear statement with Forza Motorsport 5, and even Forza Horizon [2], that no, cars are something to be loved, they're something to be explored with your friends."

Forza Motorsport 5 has already received the Rolls Royce Wraith free DLC on the Xbox One and it's possible that cars from the luxury manufacturer might appear in the upcoming Forza Horizon 2.

Forza Horizon 2 launches this fall for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
