After almost two years since the initial reveal of Fortnite, Epic Games has released a brand new batch of details as well as a gameplay video of the third-person shooter, while opening the registrations process for the upcoming alpha stage.

Epic Games has delivered in recent years some pretty similar shooters, in the form of the Gears of War titles.

After beginning to work on the Unreal Engine 4 technology, the studio wanted to generate a paradigm shift and began developing Fortnite, which was revealed to the world as a procedural shooter with a big emphasis on crafting.

Now, after two years since its initial reveal, Epic teamed up with GameInformer for a big cover story on Fortnite, sharing way more details.

According to the studio, the cooperative third-person shooter will emphasize not just hectic battles against monsters but also scavenging for resources and plans so that you can craft all sorts of crazy fortresses and items.

The progression system is akin to an RPG, and Epic has even confirmed that it will have multiple campaigns across procedurally generated worlds. Player-versus-player competitive matches are also possible.

You can check out a new video with tidbits of Fortnite gameplay below and expect to hear more about the title in the following weeks as GameInformer shares more details.

Until then, you can also sign up for the upcoming Fortnite alpha.
