Former Valve employee Jason Holtman, the man that was in charge of the popular Steam services for some time, has joined Microsoft and confirmed that he's now responsible for making the Windows operating system a great home for games.

Valve evolved from an independent video game developer into a digital distribution giant thanks to the Steam service, which was supervised by Jason Holtman for quite some time.

After his rather mysterious departure from the company, alongside quite a few other employees earlier this year, Holtman has now confirmed that he's working for Microsoft.

"Yes, I have joined Microsoft where I will be focusing on making Windows a great platform for gaming and interactive entertainment," he told GamesIndustry. "I think there is a lot of opportunity for Microsoft to deliver the games and entertainment customers want and to work with developers to make that happen, so I'm excited to be here."

As of yet, it's unclear just what projects Holtman is undertaking at Microsoft.
