Britney Spears is now preparing to embark on an international tour just a little over a year after her public breakdown that sent her to the hospital and sealed her fate in the custody battle with former husband Kevin Federline. Now, Johnny Wright, Britney’s former manager is saying that she’s not ready for her highly mediated comeback and that she’s being pushed into it, quite against her will.

Speaking with OK! Magazine, Wright joins many other concerned people close to the singer who have spoken out against her returning into the spotlight so soon after getting her life back on track. What he’s saying is not that Britney would not be able to do this, but that this could turn out to ruin the little confidence in herself she still has. She’s “pushed back into being a money machine” by the people who should look out for her best interest, Wright tells the US mag.

“I want her to be happy in her heart, then go back to the business because she wants to, not because people are convincing her she has to, or that it would be good therapy for her. It’s too soon for her to be a part of a manufactured machine that is pushing her to have to be a success.” the former manager adds, showing that, there still are people who care about the “Womanizer” singer, and that he’s one of them.

“In the beginning, in her mind, she could stop at any time. Now she’s thinking, ‘I’ve got 170 people on payroll, my dad quit his job, my mom relies totally on me and I can’t take a break. I can’t go back to my friends in Kentwood. I can’t step back…’ That’s tough for an adult, nevermind a kid… When a parent becomes an employee of a child, they worry about getting fired, so they stop being parents in order not to get laid off.” Wright says.

However, besides Britney’s state of mind, she should also focus on her two small children, the former manager tells OK! It’s these months when they’re still little that always seem to go by faster than anything else, while also being filled with most pleasant surprises and experiences. This is time that Britney will never get back, Wright believes, and especially not if she goes on tour, which she will undoubtedly end up regretting.
