Jake Davis, former LulzSec hacker “Topiary,” was recently released from prison. According to the terms of his release, he is not allowed to contact or associate with any of his former LulzSec colleagues or members of the Anonymous movement.  In a statement published today on Pastebin, Davis explains why authorities decided to ban him from talking to other hackers, despite the fact that initially this wasn’t mentioned in his parole conditions.

Apparently, the ban comes after he exchanged letters with Ryan Cleary – another former LulzSec member who suffers from autism – during the first weeks of his incarceration.

“We didn't mention the crimes, we didn't brag, we didn't reminisce, we just talked about moving forward, rehabilitating, and putting the past behind us,” Davis writes.

He explains, “For this reason, a malicious phone call was made and for the next year I now cannot communicate with 99% of the people that follow me on Twitter.”
