Dying man wants the truth to be told about Oprah

“Americans have placed Oprah on a pedestal that has been seemingly invincible until now.” says Randolph Cook, a man who dated television personality Oprah Winfrey for half a year back in the ’80s. Now, the man is dying of cancer and he wants his story to be told, and he aims precisely for that in a tell-all interview with the National Enquirer.

The “Big O,” as she’s often referred to in the media because of her vast media empire and the impressive popularity level she enjoys with the public worldwide, has admitted that she did drugs back in the ‘70s. Now, Cook says that her drug use did not stop then and, moreover, he blames her for the esophageal cancer he has been diagnosed with and which leaves him with only two more years left to live.

Consequently, he wants Oprah’s fans to see that she is not by far as goodie-goodie as she appears to be. In his book, “The Wizard of O: My Life With Oprah,” Cook claims that the star taught him how to smoke crack cocaine, saying that they would often “freebase” the drug during their brief, but turbulent 6-month affair. Adding insult to injury, Cook states that Oprah would often appear high on her own show, which, if true, would indeed make matters worse.

Cook also claims that it is Oprah who is the reason behind all his health problems, in that it was she who introduced him to drugs. So far, the 51-year-old man has only said that he wants the story “out there,” but, several media outlets are pointing out, if he’s really playing the “Oprah is responsible for this” card, a lawsuit against the star could be filed any moment now. If that be the case, it is highly likely that Cook ask for considerable monetary damages and compensations.

What is more odd about this story, gossip blogger Perez Hilton states, is that the National Enquirer has actually managed to dig up some evidence that would substantiate Cook’s claims. Apparently, reporters for the tab found a “secret 17-page court document in store rooms at Chicago’s National Archives and Records Administration that support Cook’s shocking drug claims.” Titled “Defendant Oprah Winfrey’s Answer to Plaintiff’s Amended Complaint At Law,” the document reportedly reveals that Oprah had an affair with Cook and that “defendant admits that Cook used cocaine in her presence and that she used cocaine while Cook was present.”
