Former Blue member Lee Ryan declared the reason he left the band was because he was tired to mime and not to put his heart and soul into music. Ryan confessed the rest of the group was interested only in money, not into making good music, so he decided to leave.

He says: "We lost that thing of singing live. We didn't do that towards the end and I didn't want to mime.

The satisfaction in the job had gone and doing it for the money was too shallow. The reason I left Blue was that I wasn't giving it my all or concentrating on it, I believed I should have been giving it 100%

All of us had lost interest in the music. Without that, the rest was bulls**t", Ryan added.

Blue released their debut single "All Rise" on May 21, 2001 and the song rose to number four on the British Top 40.

The band released their next single, "Too Close" (a cover version of Next's song), on August 27, 2001 and this song was Blue's first number one single. They released a new single and album, in the summer of 2002, both called "One Love".

The next single, which also reached number one on the British Top 40, was entitled "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word", and it was a duet with Elton John.

"Guilty" (the album and the single) was released in fall of 2003. The next singles were "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" (sang with Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone), "Breathe Easy" and "Bubblin'".
