He also says the government is covering stuff up

On Monday, former Apollo 14 astronaut and moon-walker Edgar Mitchell announced on a radio show that he believed extraterrestrials were real, and that they had been visiting us for quite some time now. He claimed that aliens were real and that the US government, as well as others around the world, had been concealing the truth from their respective populations for more than six decades. In addition, the NASA American space agency is also allegedly involved in keeping everything quiet. In a press release, NASA spokespersons vigorously denied the charges, and said that it never kept track of UFOs or extraterrestrial activity.

“We've been wondering if we're alone in the universe. [But] only in our period do we really have evidence. No, we're not alone. Our destiny, in my opinion, and we might as well get started with it, is [to] become a part of the planetary community. We should be ready to reach out beyond our planet and beyond our solar system to find out what is really going on out there,” Mitchell said at the National Press Club meeting, which took place after the fifth annual X-Conference – dealing with the possibility of alien life existing elsewhere in the Universe – concluded.

A native of Roswell, New Mexico, Mitchell believes that the accident that took place there in 1947 was not a simple experiment gone wrong, as the Army suggested, but an alien spaceship crash landing. He mentioned during his appearance that the people in Roswell “had been hushed and told not to talk about their experience by military authorities,” under the threat of “dire consequences.” The ex-astronaut also explained that some of the individuals who had been threatened by the Army talked to him about what they had seen.

“I urge those who are doubtful: Read the books, read the lore, start to understand what has really been going on. Because there really is no doubt we are being visited. The universe that we live in is much more wondrous, exciting, complex and far-reaching than we were ever able to know up to this point in time,” he urged people. Mitchell added that he was asked to go the Pentagon about a decade ago, where an unnamed admiral said he would explain the Roswell incident. However, that didn't happen, and the moon-walker pinpointed the military man was, at the moment, denying ever having said anything.

“NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere else – period,” the agency's spokesman, Michael Cabbage, revealed in a press release on Monday. Speculations over what happened at Roswell still rage on, while the Army remains silent. The US Air Force announced in 1994 that the debris recovered from New Mexico were probably from a balloon-borne classified government experiment, but people were not persuaded.
