Meizu’s next-gen flagship will probably arrive in Q4

These days we are being bombarded with information related to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, but if you’re pretty fed up with those, we’re taking an opportunity to stir your interest towards something else.

Meizu is one of those up and rising Chinese companies that have impressed us in 2014 by launching amazing handsets like the MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note.

Since the company’s flagship, the MX4, was launched back in September, we shouldn't be expecting a successor anytime soon. However, a certain designer that goes by the name of uva7 dance is already dreaming of the moment when the MX5 will become a reality (as seen at Concept Phones).

Possible face of Meizus MX5 appears

As you can see, he imagined a phone that’s very sleek and completely devoid of bezels. He also shared what he expects to be part of Meizu’s MX5 spec list.

The handset should boast a QHD resolution and could draw life from a Samsung Exynos 8 octa-core processor. With rumors related to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chip being plagued by overheating issues, Samsung made the decision of renouncing the US chip giant’s services and taking up the Exynos 7420 platform for its Galaxy S6 flagship.

Some have claimed that the Snapdragon 810 overheating charges were actually a big, fat excuse for Samsung to start actively pushing its Exynos agenda and try to get more involved in the silicone business.

Well, in all possibility, Meizu might be one of those manufacturers looking to take Samsung’s chip architecture onboard for its upcoming flagships.

The Meizu MX5 is also said to arrive with 4GB of RAM (like the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro), a 22MP camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor (IMX230) and a 5MP frontal selfie camera.

Stereo speakers will be included and a 4000 mAh battery will keep everything alive and running. The handset is 6.9 mm / 0.27 inches thin and bundles a 2 nano SIM card and micro USB 3.1 port.

The back of the device with a physical button affair makes the MX5 concept feel quite similar to the LG G3 and ASUS ZenFone 2.

In all likely hood, the MX5 will probably be launched with Lollipop onboard, although we can't say which version exactly.
