Vivo is a well-known Chinese company that likes to impress the media with its smartphones that seem to be artificially inflated with ridiculous specs. But that's only partly true since Vivo was among the first handset makers to launch a smartphone with Quad HD display.

This time, the company has something else in mind. Its Vivo X5 Pro is rumored to be unveiled sometime this month, but little is known about the upcoming flagship smartphone.

One thing is for sure though - because it's just been confirmed by Vivo's official Facebook account - and that's the fact that the X5 Pro will pack a retina scanner.

The retina scanner will allow users to keep their smartphones more secure than ever. Unfortunately, there are not details on the technology behind this retina scanner yet, so we must wait for Vivo to share some news on the matter.

Funtouch OS 2.1 and 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset

Another major selling point of the Vivo X5 Pro could the amazing 32-megapixel photo snapper on the front. The flagship smartphone is said to boast a huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Underneath the 2.5D curved glass that covers the chassis, the phone packs a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 3GB of RAM. We have no idea how much internal memory the X5 Pro will include. We also don't know if the smartphone will feature microSD card slot for memory expansion.

It's also worth mentioning that Vivo X5 Pro will ship with Funtouch OS 2.1, which is based on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

Although the smartphone is expected to be officially unveiled this month, it's unclear whether or not Vivo will also make it available for purchase on the same date. We also don't know if it will be launched in more countries, other than China.
