While Apple's iPad 2 is, without a doubt, one of the hottest topics on the Internet these days, just about everyone scrambling to find out as many bits and pieces of information as possible regarding what they can expect from the future iDevice, we're also coming across certain products that already offer some of the features that Apple's future tablet will have in store, as is the case with the SmartPad M2. At a first sight, the SmartPad M2 might seem like just another iPad clone running the Android OS, available on the Chinese market, that's already filled up with such items.

However, as the people over at GizInChina, who've had the chance to take a closer look at this thing, point out, the SmartPad M2 is, in fact, a lot more, since its developers went to some pretty great lengths in order to customize its Android 2.1 user interface in order to look as similar as possible to the one provided by the iOS operating system.

Beside looking like the iPad (albeit at a smaller scale, since it only sports an 8-inch screen) and behaving like one, the SmartPad M2 is actually pretty different from the Apple tablet, given the fact that it's built around a Rockchip PK2818 CPU, accompanied by 256MB of RAM memory, 8GB of built-in storage space and a 4200mAh battery.

Plus, the iPad knock-off also packs plenty of connectivity options, including here HDMI out, USB, micro USB and a micro SD card reader, not to mention a built-in web camera, that makes it actually better than the current-generation iPad.

Last, but certainly not least, we can't help but notice that the SmartPad M2 is a whole lot more affordable than both the original iPad and the forthcoming iPad 2, as it sells for just around 1980 Chinese Yuan ($300).
