Earlier this month, Microsoft released Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 to manufacturing, and the company is doing its best to try and get customers to at least test drive the product.
The video embedded at the bottom of this article, courtesy of TechNet Edge, is designed to offer a taste of what Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 RTM brings to the table in terms of endpoint protection features.
“Randy Treit, senior program manager on the Microsoft Antimalware team, goes through four demos of Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010, which show live system behavior monitoring in action, the Dynamic Signature Service, network vulnerability shielding, and the diagnostic scan capabilities of this new product,” Microsoft revealed.
Customers considering FEP 2010 should definitely have a look at the video, and see an overview of what this security solution has to offer.
Of course, the best way to actually make up their mind about adopting FEP 2010 needs to start with test driving the product.
Following RTM, the software giant started offering the evaluation bits of Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 to customers.
Free FEP 2010 downloads are available to business customers since mid-December, and they can see first-hand if the product does reduce endpoint protection complexity while cutting infrastructure costs, just as Microsoft is promising.
Small business customers can also download Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 RTM and give it a try.
But in the eventuality in which their financial resources are stretched as much as possible and do not allow for purchasing FEP 2010, customers can download and run Microsoft Security Essentials 2.0 completely free of charge on up to 10 computers.
“Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 enables businesses to align security and management to improve endpoint protection while greatly reducing operational costs,” Microsoft stated.
“It builds on System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and R3, allowing customers to use their existing client management infrastructure to deploy and manage endpoint protection.
“This shared infrastructure helps reduce ownership costs while providing improved visibility and control over endpoint management and security.”
