Analysts find that the global LCD TV industry dropped in 3Q13

You'd think that, given how many years they've been around, LCD TVs have had their ups and downs, but IHS iSuppli says that's not the case. In fact, Q3 of 2013 was the first time that shipments actually dropped.

That shows clearly that people really like their image quality, and like it when said quality comes in thin and light packages.

The analyst firm has found that, in the July-September period, shipments fell from 2Q's 58.8 million to 58 million.

It's still a fair rise compared to the third quarter of 2012 though, when the market was of 60 million (up from 2Q12's 54.5 million).

All in all, it's a surprise that this happened, because the third quarter of a year is usually a strong season.

Those with customers in China have a special reason to be concerned, because China-based TV vendors haven't been doing all that well for some reason.
