To adapt to the new trend in which everybody judges you according to the mobile phone you own, youths tend to reanalize their priority
list, in favor of mobile phones.
It is reported that more and more teenagers give up smoking, eating
chocolate or buying CDs to save money for a newly released gadget in order to impress friends.
A recent survey reveals the fact that in Europe, a child gets his/her first mobile phone around the age of 8 and will spend more than $28.000 on mobile communication devices.
Nowadays, it is reported that youngsters spend eight times more on telephony than they do on music, which explains the decrease in sales of CDs.
But regarding the decline in music items selling, we all know the piracy plays an important part in the way big entertainment companies register serious profit loses. Also the public health information suffocates the media with useful tips on how to live longer. Therefore, people stop eating junk and start saving for practical things.
Nevertheless, the mobile communication companies campaign targets the teenagers as they are known as the most receptive members of innovative information. "In 2007 they [youth between five and 24] will spend over $150bn on their mobile. That's up from nothing 10 years ago", stated the leader author of the report, Graham Brown.
