With people eagerly awaiting Ashlee Vance’s upcoming biography about the CEO of SpaceX, suggestively titled "Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future," everyone is making guesses on what the Bloomberg tech news writer will reveal about one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.

To quench people’s curiosity about the forthcoming book, The Washington Post published some excerpts from the highly anticipated description of the businessman’s life. And people are not disappointed.

Just as expected, the book will reveal some interesting details, given that the writer was able to gather all the necessary information from Musk’s entourage.

What shocked people the most was not the fact that his wife thinks of him as a cyborg, or that he worked 23 hours a day to make sure he got things done, but the fact that he would put work before family.

Not that it is an uncommon practice for some of the big names in tech industry to dedicate most of their time to their work, but an email that the ambitious leader sent to one of his employees was enough to change people’s opinion about him.

Musk doesn't think much of family time

Most people think of childbirth as an event that you cannot miss for the world, but Elon Mosk is not just a common individual. When one of his employees skipped a work event because his wife was giving birth, the CEO showed no compassion.

Not only he did not congratulate him on the happy event, but he even accused the poor man of not being able to set his priorities straight.

The Washington Post reported, "That is no excuse. I am extremely disappointed. You need to figure out where your priorities are. We're changing the world and changing history, and you either commit or you don't."

Judging by the rush words, some people hastened to label him as a tyrant who he is so engrossed in work that he cannot take the time to appreciate the important events in life.

His supporters, on the other hand, claim that those accusing him of being a workaholic and a dictator ignore the pressure that the CEO has to endure for holding the reins of such a big company.

It is a known fact that Musk is very strict towards his employees, but he is very demanding when it comes to himself as well, so it should come as no surprise that he expects those working for him to commit themselves to the company as much as he does.
