Football star Darnell Dockett, who currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals, is the proud owner of a baby tiger named Buddy.

Judging by several pictures that have made it on Twitter, the animal is by no means abused.

Still, animal rights activists maintain that tigers are wild animals and therefore should not be kept as pets, even if one is under the impression that they can provide them with everything they might need.

Ecorazzi reports that, since Darnell Dockett firs brought home the tiger cub until present day, PETA has filed several complaints and demanded that both the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Arizona Game and Fish Department investigate this issue and rescue Buddy.

Unfortunately, the organization's pleas have pretty much remained unanswered.

The same source informs us that, before buying this tiger, the football star showed interest in getting a pet monkey.

He reportedly failed to get his hands on one such animal and purchased Buddy instead.
