New details about the Linux version have been published on Steam

Sports Interactive and SEGA have announced that their prized franchise Football Manager will arrive on Linux, starting with the 2014 edition, and users can now preorder the game on Steam for Linux.

Football Manager 2014 for Linux was announced a few months ago, in May, in a small Facebook announcement. The latest version released by Sports Interactive, Football Manager 2013, has been deemed as the most successful title in the history of the franchise.

Users can now pre-purchase the new 2014 version on Steam and the Linux version is officially supported.

Even the Linux system requirements have been listed: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Intel Pentium 4 Intel Core or AMD Athlon 1.8GHz+ processor, 1 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT, AMD Radeon HD 2400, Pro Intel HD 3000/4000 with 128MB VRAM, and 3 GB of available HD space.

There aren't any other additional details about this release and the precise launch date hasn't been revealed. The only date available is the end of 2013.
