The development team at Sports Interactive has used its Football Manager 2013 simulation to show that David Moyes, the current manager of Everton, would be a solid successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, bringing in two trophies during his first season.

The new Scottish manager would manage to win both the League Cup and the Premier League normal season in 2013-2014, according to the comprehensive simulation.

Sports Interactive says that Moyes would buy Leighbon Baines from his old team Everton to strengthen the squad, while unloading some of the players that are not performing at United.

Robin van Persia and Wayne Rooney would perform well under the new leadership, working together to score more than 40 goals to put Manchester United on top of the league.

Football Manager 2013 also shows that Mourinho, the other candidate for the job, would fail to get any trophies at United in his simulated first season.
