Sports Interactive & SEGA Europe Ltd. have confirmed, in a press conference, that Football Manager 2009 for Macs has gone gold, and is slated for an official release on November 14. Mac owners will get to test their managerial abilities later this week, once the demo version of Football Manager 2009 is released.

The management simulation game is to be made available on a total of three platforms, including PC, Mac and Sony's popular handheld PlayStation Portable. According to Sports Interactive, two different versions of the demo will be accessible for PC and MAC – a “strawberry” and a “vanilla” version, both of which provide half a season of gameplay. Not to worry, though – if you are pleased with your progress and wish to save it, so as to continue playing when the full version is out, you can do that. According to the company, the saved games from the demo will be compatible with the full release. A little more info on both demos can be found below.

Strawberry Demo (PC only)

Players are given a chance to try out their skills in leagues from multiple countries, as this version of the demo includes player pictures and club badges, with quickstarts for the world’s biggest football associations. Strawberry will also include translations of the game in all languages, and will be available for download starting with Sunday, November 2, at midnight, on Steam. Users will be able to get the PC-only demo either as a torrent, or as a direct download provided by GameShadow, says Sports Interactive.

Vanilla Demo (English-only)

While only the Strawberry demo still keeps its annoying limitation, Vanilla is exclusively available in English, and features both England and Scotland's leagues. In order to reduce the size of the download, the producers decided to leave out details such as player photos or club badges. The Vanilla demo will be released at the same time with Strawberry, namely on Sunday, November 2, at midnight, via the News of The World website.

The system requirements for Football Manager 2009 include an Intel Processor, the latest version of Mac OS X (and the currently available one), OS X 10.5.5, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 / ATI X1600 Radeon and 1GB System RAM.

Check back on Sunday to download your Vanilla demo, right here on Softpedia.
