Although going long back, here is a trend as hot as a new one

When talking about folk boho, we're actually referring to that delicious mixture the two otherwise distinct trends successfully represent since the early ‘90s. Via the catwalks, the next season will bring it back on the streets, especially thanks to Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Ana Sui collections. Naturally, a 2009 fashionista should feel bohemian and audacious enough to try on the latest cuts and combinations, as well as all the vivid colors that are coming our way.

The simplest way to describe this look would go something like this: your garment is folk boho enough only it looks like you've just stepped out of a foreign traditional clothing catalog. The colors that you should be wearing are intense and somehow aggressive (different shades of red, purple, yellow, orange, etc.), especially if combined with some black – you can wear some matching ethnic-looking boots, a hippie bag, or a headband across your forehead. In lesser words, everything is allowed as long as you still stick to the theme.

One can have lots of fun and even play a bit when choosing the folksy frock, as the range of possibilities available is practically endless: look for all sorts of patterns (from paisley motifs, to floral, heart, teardrop shapes, etc.) and embroideries, wooden beads, even feathers can make your look quite unique.

It seems this trend will never be forgotten, as long as each and every woman will want to be the only one wearing a certain kind of outfit. Moreover, given that there are so many options to choose from, creating a style of your own becomes even easier than before.

Celebs like Sienna Miller have taught us that even a regular pair of jeans can be a fashion statement, if paired with a floaty, feminine, paisley top – that's casual, yet chic, and totally boho. As your personality and mood change, state who you are by means of the clothes you wear: ethnic but classy at the same time, by wearing an elegant tunic (which will never be a fashion no-no), or modern but hippie, by donning anything that has fringes on it (your dress, your bag, or your belt).

Think of it that way: you can open your wardrobe and choose the clothes to wear as if you were preparing for a role in a play. And, of course, your imagination is the only limit.
