Today, Focusrite has announced the availability of a new firmware package targeted at its RedNet 6 MADI bridge device, namely version 582, which fixes some clock-related issues encountered by the unit.

Specifically speaking, this release resolves the problem where corrupt MADI would be sent when the RedNet 6 SRC was set to Word Clock input, and the one where the product couldn’t retain the clock source selection when performing a restart.

As for installing this package, get the downloadable .dnt file, open RedNet Control, select the “Firmware Update…” button from the virtual RedNet 6 device panel, and choose the firmware file you have just downloaded.

Now wait for the upgrade process to complete and reboot the unit after the flash finishes. Bear in mind that while the update is in progress, you must not power off or restart the RedNet 6, because doing so might cause serious damage to the device and this could even render it unstable.

That being said, download Firmware 582 for Focusrite RedNet 6, take into account all the mentioned aspects regarding the installation, apply the fresh build to the device, and enjoy your newly updated MADI bridge.
