Before Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” came out in theaters and made of newcomer Margot Robbie one of the hottest actresses on the scene, she first got some media attention from the tabloids for allegedly ruining Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s marriage.

She and Will shot “Focus,” a new action movie that will be coming out in theaters in February 2015. All gossip aside, the first trailer for the film is now out – and it looks very promising.

Will Smith is Nicky, a “seasoned master of misdirection,” according to the official synopsis. In other words, Nicky is a con-man, the leader of a ring of scam artists who love playing this game but know that there is never a place “for heart” in it.

Jess (Margot Robbie) is an aspiring con-woman with no experience but enough skills to convince Nicky to give her a chance to prove herself. And prove herself she does, while complicating the game a lot by getting romantically involved with her “mentor,” Nicky.

The same synopsis tells us that he breaks if off with her because he doesn’t want the drama, but “three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high-stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop… and the consummate con man off his game.” More drama on the way for Nicky!

“Focus” is written and directed by the duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who also wrote and directed the critical hit “Bad Santa” and one of my all-time favorite rom-coms, “Crazy Stupid Love.” Their staple is a sizzling mix of action movie and comedy, which the trailer seems to have in abundance.

Check it out!
