Fly Mobile recently unveiled a new mobile phone, the Fly SX200, which comes to enlarge its line-up of entry-level handsets.

Fly SX200 is a slider that measures 95 x 50 x 13.9 millimeters, when closed, and brings a set of normal features for an affordable device. We have tri-band GSM connectivity, MP3 player, stereo Bluetooth, FM Radio, VGA photo camera, video recording / playback, WAP browser and speakerphone. The handset only offers an internal memory of 0.5MB, but this can be expanded with a microSD card (so you can actually store music on the phone and use that MP3 player). Fly SX200's battery is capable of offering up to 2 hours and 20 minutes of talk-time and up to 175 hours of stand-by time. Not really great, even for an entry-level phone.

As you can see, the new Fly phone is nothing out of the ordinary, but it doesn't have to be anyway, since it's made for those who want a handset that looks good and won't drain too much money out of their pockets when bought.

For the moment, Fly SX200 is available only in the UK, via Woolworths, an online retailer. The slider is priced at only ?29.99 ($60 or 38 Euro), with a PAYG (Pay As You Go) plan from Virgin Mobile, the virtual mobile operator that uses T-Mobile's network. No word yet about a future availability from other carriers, in or outside the UK. Not that other markets lack affordable phones, but more choices are always better.

Founded in 2003, Fly Mobile is a new player on the mobile market, and it sells various phone models across Europe (the UK and Eastern Europe mainly), and India as well. The company also offers Windows Mobile smartphones, like the Fly PC100 and Fly PC200.
