Fly Mobile has a new slider phone in its line-up, the SL 100, a device with some impressive performances and a fairly acceptable price. The phone comes in an appealing design and boasts some of the most evolved performances that handsets are capable of providing at this
time.
SL 100 comes in a compact and
stylish case, at some small dimensions of 96 x 49 x 14.9 mm and 100 grams. For a slider phone, this is more than acceptable and makes the device highly comfortable to use and good-looking. It's nothing past that impression, as it looks rather plain, beyond the slider form factor. This design has a special type of elegance, although some innovation from the handset itself would have been appreciated.
The 2 megapixel camera will manage to provide image captures at an acceptable quality for those who do not intend to shoot professional captures. There is also TV Out connectivity for allowing the user to view its captures on the screen of a TV set, at best possible quality.
The small camera surely takes SL 100 out of the camera phone line, although the fact that it has an MP3 player and also brings FM connectivity will not make it a music phone either. At least not a highly evolved one. In fact, Fly Mobile's new handset tries and manages to pack a little bit of every
performance, making it a fully capable device.
The phone's display screen is capable of supporting a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Moreover, connectivity is also available through Bluetooth and the phone also has Java support, for running such applications. The GPRS connection can also be considered a plus, as it provides reliable data transfers.
Fly Mobile will launch its SL 100 handset by the end of October for the price of 75 pounds, which makes it quite affordable when considering its capabilities.
