Floyd Landis has finally been set a date to find out his B Sample result. After both the cyclist and UCI agreed that the rider should give a urine test on Monday,
the world cycling body announced the American that he will find out the verdict as late as Saturday. And it's not like the Tour de France winner is too enthusiastic about it. After all, the Phonak rider already stated that he does not expect for the B Sample to change anything.
"I don't think it will reverse the A Sample. So I expect nothing. Still, I want to make sure I have done everything correctly. I want to state, though, that this is not a doping case and I will make all that I can so I can prove it to you", stated Landis earlier in the weekend.
Still, Le tour de France organizers already announced the cyclist of his sanctions if proven guilty. He will be stripped of his "yellow jersey" and Phonak will sack him. Still, Lance Armstrong defended his compatriot, stating that: "if he knows he's not innocent, he'll have to fight it all the way, no matter the B Sample. I was accused of the same thing and did not stop until I managed to clear my name".
Yesterday, the International Cyclist Union (UCI) spokesman, Enrico Capani, stated that the American underwent a second test and that the B Sample result should come out by the end of the week.
"On Saturday morning, we should know, that is what the French laboratory told us. Yesterday afternoon we have asked them to analyze the B sample because Mr. Landis had not asked them to do so. The laboratory will communicate the results to the Phonak team and to us", said Capani.
The B sample will be tested at the Laboratoire National de Depistage du Dopage (LNDD).
