Floyd Landis Should Be Sued

Ever since the Landis doping scandal caught the public eye, everyone inside the world of cycling avoided judging the American too hard. Most of the times, the UCI, WADA or CIO officials only admitted that, IF Landis is proven guilty "beyond reasonable doubt", then he would have to undergo some tough sanctions.

More, it was the Tour de France winner that attacked CIO (International Cycling Union) for flawing his drug tests. Landis stated that: "I have been tested 8 times in the competition, and 7 of those times I tested negative. You can't just take testosterone one time only. It's not the way to do it. It's excluded".

After hearing most of his explanations and his latest accuses, the president of the International Association of Professional Cycling Teams, Belgian Patrick Lefevere, launched an unprecedented attack on the disgraced Tour de France winner, threatening to take legal actions against him.

"We should take him to court for what he is now doing to cycling. Why not? Why not take the American approach of dealing with things and apply it here? As long as Landis continues to maintain that he knows nothing, this sort of scenario becomes more likely. I feel like throwing up when I hear him. Landis has turned the clock back 20 years", said Lefevere.

Also being the boss of a ProTour team - Quickstep - the Belgian insisted on blasting Phonak (Landis' former team) for its history inside doping: "Look, one doping case per year is possible to explain, but ten in three years? Teams like that should be out of the ProTour. I had warned the Tour management before the start of the Tour. I'm certainly not a judge and the fate of Phonak is not yet sealed, but I would gladly like an explanation".
