14 DAY TRIAL // A woman returned home one day only to find that half of her pool had been swallowed by a sinkhole. The resident of Winter Park, Florida was celebrating her birthday on Monday when she got a less than pleasant surprise.
She noticed a large portion of the pool had sunk at 8:30 p.m. Her home is located near Lake Killarney, and the land in the area could be unstable enough to cause the sinking.
The Sun Sentinel reports that the sinkhole on Suzanne Blumenauer's property has spread to a neighboring yard.
The fire department arrived at the 1947 home on 2300 Roxbury Road, but no evacuations have been made at this point.
Battalion Chief Billy Richardson has informed in a statement that the depression is 40-50 foot (12-15 meter) wide and 30-40 foot (9-12 meter) deep.
