Florida Police stumbled across a bizarre discovery in a wooded area of Volusia County on Thursday, where they found a wooden coffin containing an arsenal of weapons, including nunchucks, knives, a crossbow and a mace.

It has been revealed that the coffin was found lying upside down in a rural area of De Leon Springs by officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission who were patrolling along the 5300 block of Lake Park Road. The officers called the sheriff's office and a deputy was dispatched at the scene.

Inside the coffin shaped box, deputies found no less that 46 weapons, the majority of which were old and rusty and bore no signs that they had been used to inflict damage or harm to anyone or for other malicious purposes, according to a police report.

Among the weapons, there were nunchucks, forceps, a ball with metal spikes, a double-sided ax, a hammer, scissors, bats, metal chains and other items.

Given that police didn't observe any indication of foul play, the case was closed, Metro reports. However, the owner of the bizarre collection still remains a mystery.

It seems to me that someone was getting ready for the impending zombie apocalypse.
