That Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine is a genuine force in music is no longer news. That she can take a “common” pop track and turn it into a different song from the original, has just been confirmed.

A while back, a new collaboration from rumored lovers Rihanna and Drake emerged online. Called “Take Care,” it was a story of lost love told in the language of typical pop narrative, with some Autotune but overall deep, touching lyrics.

Florence + The Machine performed it on BBCR1’s live lounge at Maida Vale studio a few days ago and, what with Florence’s amazing voice and a better, less repetitive backing track, turned it into a new song.

To call it a cover would probably be upsetting for all three artists because there’s definitely no comparison between them.

However, the “cover” does further confirm that, when it comes to music, Florence is a league entirely her own.

Check out both versions and let us know which one you like best – and why.
