It will be accessed by kayak and will act as a refuge from the big city

I've seen my share of peculiar inventions and building plans, and now I've stumbled upon another: a floating sauna.

That's right, someone's gotten it into their brilliant heads to make a Steam room that floats on top of a lake.

Architecture firm goCstudio is planning to launch the floating sauna on Lake Washington, Seattle, later this year.

They mean for it to act as a refuge away from the city, where people can escape, relax and reinvigorate.

The US Coast guard will probably have to classify the sauna as a boat, which means that the sauna will be able to "drop anchor" for periods of time. When anchored, it will be orientated towards the south, to catch the most sun.

GoCstudio isn't ready to launch the invention though. It needs to raise $15,000 / €11,000 through a Kickstarter campaign, which will go live in a few weeks.
