Resident Evil: Revelations, which is considered to be the eighth main game in the long-running zombie battling series, will include a cruise ship sequence but it seems that the developers initially thought of something more grandiose: a floating mansion.

Seth Killian, who is one of the community managers working at Capcom, told the Unity podcast that, “The concept for Revelations, it was actually just a floating mansion. That was the concept. It was just a mansion at sea. Capcom USA forced them to change it to a cruise ship.”

Revelations will see the return of some of the core concepts of the Resident Evil series, including limited ammunition that calls for carefully placed shots and a limited range of movements for the main characters.

The game will see Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield team up for a dangerous missions against bio-terrorists and is set to be launched exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS on January 26 in Japan, one day later in Europe, and on February 7 in North America.
