Ever felt like doing something good for someone? Ever thought that, even if you did, you wouldn't make much of a difference? Well, now you can, thanks to Flipswap. If you've got an old device laying around, or want to upgrade to iPhone 3G but get rid of the original, the folks at Flipswap will gladly take it off your hands, paying good cash for it too, or giving it away for charity - it's totally up to you.

Flipswap's reLeaf Program also says that you can send in a dead
iPhone or iPod for a tree: "Use our handy Dealer Locator to find a Flipswap Certified retailer in your neighborhood," Flipswap notes. "Take in any old mobile phones you have laying around, and tell them you'd like to trade them in for trees with Flipswap. Smile and breathe easier knowing you've done your part for future generations. [...] Flipswap reduces the number of new cell phones and other devices pushed into service by providing fully functional used alternatives to consumers across the globe. Beyond this, our warehouse is 100% green, where minimal waste is a primary focus."

Joining the company's reLeaf program, you can send in a device that's reached the end of its life, and, not only will you be responsible for the planting of a tree, but you will be sure not one "ounce of hazardous material" ends up where it shouldn't: "All end of life devices we receive are sent to Sims Recycling Solutions," Flipswap says, talking about its reLeaf program. "This internationally recognized recycler has facilities all over the world and meets ISO 14001 environmental management standards."

Flipswap also buys good working devices, so you can send yours in and nab yourself an extra buck to make the upgrade to iPhone 3G less painful. So, you've had trouble finding a buyer for your beat up iPhone, iPod, or need to get a good price for a working device, maybe Flipswap is the answer. All you will be required is to fill up a form noting the condition of your device, included accessories, etc. and Flipswap will gladly buy it, paying for the shipping as well.

If you want, you can even tell Flipswap to hand over the money to a charity.

Flipswaps estimates it will plant around 25,000 trees this year alone.
