Moto G, the cheapest smartphone in Motorola’s lineup at the moment, landed in India a few months ago, and is now available through Flipkart with a special deal attached to it.

All those who bring an old smartphone along when buying the device will receive a Rs. 2,000 ($33/€24) discount from the retailer, as detailed on its website.

The deal applies to both the 8B and 16GB versions of the mobile phone, but it seems that only a series of devices are actually eligible for the promotion.

Thus, those who would like to take advantage of the deal will need to bring along a phone coming from Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo, and Lenovo, among others.

At the same time, the retailer notes that phones need to be in working condition in order to be accepted in the buy-back deal.

Users making the purchase online will need to enter the IMEI of their older device. Flipkart will pick up the handset when the Moto G is delivered, and users are charged around Rs. 50 for that, depending on their location, fonearena notes.

Through this deal, users will receive an immediate discount for the purchase of a Moto G smartphone, and won’t have to wait for the amount to be credited to their bank accounts.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Moto G was made official last year with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution.

The handset arrives on the market with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor packed inside, as well as with 1GB of RAM, and the aforementioned internal memory options. Unfortunately, it does not feature a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, Moto G sports a 5-megapixel camera, which is capable of recording videos in HD resolution, paired with a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

It also comes with the usual set of connectivity capabilities packed inside, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver, as well as with the entire range of sensors. The smartphone was made available for purchase in India with dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) with dual-standby capabilities packed inside.

Moto G was unveiled with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, but it has already received an update to the Android 4.4 KitKat platform, and is currently shipping with this OS right out of the box. The phone is powered by a 2070mAh battery.
