The popular Flipboard application for Android devices has just been updated with new features and improvements. Some bug fixes have been added as well, along with stability enhancements.

The latest version of Flipboard also brings improved navigation within sections, so expect more visibility when the section's name is tapped.

In addition, users will now have easier access to Google Reader feeds and folders. It is also worth mentioning in-app hints now expose helpful functionality.

Last but not least, new shopping cart features (Gilt Taste section) have been included as well. Although devs confirmed bug fixes have been added with the latest update, they have yet to details which issues have been addressed.

Flipboard 1.9.6 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up.
