A new flavor of the Flickr for Android application has landed on devices with some appealing enhancements packed inside, including a redesigned experience available for mobile users.

The new app release arrives in conjunction with a series of other changes made to Flickr, one of which included the availability of no less than one terabyte of space for storing photos.

As the Yahoo! CEO explains, this means that users will have enough space for storing over half a million high-resolution photos to be easily shared with their friends.

The new flavor of the Android application was designed not only with support for that, but also with a series of other enhancements, including new filters, photo editor, privacy settings, access to the photos of friends, and more.

“With smartphones in our pockets at all times, we’re all photographers on a daily basis. That’s why we’re also excited to launch new version of the Flickr app for Android phones and tablets,” the company notes in the blog post.

“Similar to the iPhone app we launched in December, the new Flickr for Android maintains your photos’ original quality, so every image you take, edit, share, or view on your phone or tablet looks spectacular.”

There are 16 filters available for users to take advantage of, while the aforementioned photo editor enables them to enhance, draw, crop, add text, or retouch their photos while on the go.

The application will also provide owners of Android devices with the possibility to easily find and join groups, share photos, and join discussions, while also offering access to photos from the massive Flickr community – nearby or across the globe.

Android users will also be able to keep track of where photos have been taken courtesy of geotagging capabilities included in the new Flickr application.

The official Flickr Android application, which is available in 10 languages worldwide, can be found on Softpedia as well, via this link.
