Nothing can stop you from playing Halo 3 now that your Xbox is alive again

It appears that a group of skilled gamers have found a way to fix the Xbox 360's greatest issue, the "Red Ring of Death", which has troubled many console owners. A fixing guide was made available, but it's not free, so you'll spend $24.95 for a PDF document that teaches you how to repair your gaming device. The alternative would be sending the console back to Microsoft and waiting for your free repair, but that may take a while. Also, there have been reports of people having their consoles fixed by Microsoft and getting a second "Red Red of Death" error.

The guide will show you how make your beloved Xbox 360 work again and the whole process takes about an hour. This document also mentions overheating problems, graphical errors and console freezing errors. I suppose that the PDF was already ripped and can be now found online as piracy has even made its way into the Halo 3 world, making the game available on torrent sites. We've also got some bad news for you, as it seems that 6% percent of the "Red Ringed" Xbox consoles can't be fixed, so it's pretty much a gambling affair.

Just to make things clear, the above-mentioned guide is not a soft and clean software approach of the issue, requiring you to open up the Xbox 360, thus voiding your warranty. Do you want to take a chance? I think that there are gamers out there who would give an arm and a leg to get their hands on the pirated Halo 3 and play it on their 360, so even the feared "Red Ring of Death" shouldn't be able to stop them. Speaking of which, you might want to know that there's even a heavy metal song, created specially for this famous error and I wonder if we'll ever listen to a pop version dedicated to the fix...
