Non-widescreen users get a break

Good news for those who have 4:3 or 5:4 LCD monitors and hook 'em up to their Xbox 360 via an VGA cable and play Gears of War, PGR3 or Oblivion. Maybe you have experienced some aspect ratio trouble upon doing this, but no more as Epic games plans to release patch to fix this bug.

This news comes via a post on Epic Games forums and is signed by Mark Rein, site administrator. I mentioned this for you to realize that this source is reliable. He mentions that this patch still has to go through testing and certification and that it will be included in the next Gears of War update. He promises to publish some more information as soon as he has it.

Mark Rein also apologizes to all VGA cable non-widescreen users for not realizing this bug before the release of the game. He also promises to test all future games on non-widescreen sets so that you won't encounter such bugs anymore.

Unlike previous first-person shooters from Epic Games, Gears of War takes a completely different perspective as it was turned into a third-person shooter. If focuses mainly on tactics, so if you plan to use brute force to complete Gears of War you can forget it. Players can carry only four weapons, two primary weapons, a sidearm and limited supply of grenades.

The main character of the game is Marcus Fenix, son of a famous military scientist, Adam Fenix. Marcus fought during the Pendulum Wars earning many promotions and decorations. He is voiced by John DiMaggio, the same guy who plays Futurama's Bender.
