A short list of very cheap and good games

The Humble Bundle website is now hosting a major sale and they have hundreds of discounted games available for purchase. A large number of those games are also available for Linux users and quite a few of them are actually very good. Here is a short list of Linux gems in that offer.

The guys who promote the Humble Bundle collections also have their own shop, but many users don't know that. Buying from the store works in the same way, although you do need to have an account. Where possible, the games are packaged separately or you can redeem them on Steam. To make things even better, all the titles are DRM free, with the exception of the Steam installation.

The promotion for these games has just started and it will last for a few more days. If you don't find the games we proposed interesting, keep in mind that there are many more available, so you should really take a look at that list.

Good games with Linux support are not hard to find

The Linux platform managed to gather a lot of very good games and sometimes finding just a few to recommend could prove difficult. The following list does not have a particular order, but it has only excellent titles.

Machinarium is a superb point-and-click adventure game starring a small robot that was abandoned in a garbage dump. You start the story by trying to piece yourself together and to escape that terrible place. There are no lines of dialog and no one really talks. The quality of the drawings is exquisite and it's one of the first games in the new generation to get a Linux version

System Shock 2 is a very old FPS / RPG title developed by Irrational Games. You might know the name of the studio because it's the same one that did the Bioshock series. In any case, this is a highly complex game with a great story, and one of the best ever made.

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is a rather strange experience. Its makers from the Curve Studios are saying that it's a " fast-paced, nail-biting antidote to tippy-toed sneaking simulators that the world had so desperately been craving." They are right.

Anomaly Warzone Earth is a reverse tower-defense game in which you are the aggressor. The enemy built towers and your job is to get passed them. It has a unique gameplay, beautiful graphics, and works smoothly on Linux systems.

Shadowrun Returns is a turn-based RPG that managed to get enough funding on Kickstater in order to become a reality. It has a unique artstyle and the action takes place in a cyberpunk-meets-fantasy world that is beautifully drawn.

All of these titles have massive discounts, so don't forget to visit humblebundle.com and get them.
