With CES 2011 just about ready to open its doors, more and more companies try to build hype around the products they are preparing to launch at the fair, Fitness Technology doing the same for the UWaterG2, world's smallest waterproof MP3 player.

Certified to resist up to 10 feet (or 3 meters) underwater, the player easily clips to the included armband, goggles, headband, or belt and can accompany its users wherever they may decide to go.

"The UWaterG2 ends the boredom of swimming laps, letting you enjoy music and audio books while boating, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, skiing, walking in the rain, or running - this is the ultimate outdoor companion!" said Opher Pail, president at Fitness Technologies Inc.

As the company states, the player's waterproof abilities are possible thanks to the proprietary "Twist & Lock" technology that completely seals water out of the earphone jacks.

In addition, this will also prolong the players life as it provides long-term corrosion protection, the most widespread problem faced by waterproof MP3 players and other devices that have to rely on jacks.

The UWaterG2 will be available in 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB capacities, Fitness Technology stating that its compact MP3 player can store up to 2,400 songs or 20 audio books on the built-in memory, the battery life being estimated at about 8 hours of playtime.

Although following to be officially launched during CES 2011, the UWaterG2 is available immediately, prices starting at a rather low $59.95.

Users that decide to go for this player have the option of choosing between no less than five different colorways (including black/yellow, black/red, black/blue, black and ice white).

The UWaterG2 bundle includes the MP3 player, extendable stereo waterproof earphones (12" to 40"), silicon ear-tips (4 sets, XL, L, M, S), armband and a detachable flex clip.
