In the United Kingdom

There's a sense of deja vu when taking a look at the videogame charts coming out of the United Kingdom. This week, the first four spots are occupied by the same games as last week, which is quite surprising and emphasizes the limited appeal of the new titles released at the moment.

Wii Fit from Nintendo is still the best selling game, which is quite a feat, considering that the Balance Board bundle is not exactly easy to find in stores and given the price tag. Well, gamers must be very interested in shaving off those extra couple of pounds weighing them down.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine from Activision is still in second place, probably dragged up by the success of the movie with the same name and by the extreme violence that can be inflicted on others in the videogame. FIFA 09 is in third spot, with sales of the excellent football simulation selling well, as players try to predict the result of the UEFA Champions League final. Wii Play is in fourth place, showing the selling power of the Nintendo home console.

The first change is when we arrive to the fifth and sixth places. There, Mario Kart Wii and Resident Evil 5 from Cacpom have switched positions, with the zombie shooter going down one place and the racing title going up one. Call of Duty: World at War from Activision and Treyarch is the big winner of the week, going up three places to number seven, while Professor Layton and the Curious Village is sitting at number eight and with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games at number nine.

The only new entry in the United Kingdom chart is Rhythm Paradise, created by Nintendo, which holds number ten, while Street Fighter IV from Capcom hovers just outside the top ten.
