Staying fit is, for many, having to choose between going to the gym or out for a run. While the former also requires paying a subscription, the latter is dependant on the weather, so, in the end, people often choose to drop both. However, staying fit at home is also an option, as celebrity trainer Marco Borges has showed on Heidi Klum and Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen’s show.

What’s even better about the types of exercises demonstrated by Borges is that, aside from being performed strictly indoors, they also do not require special equipment. As a matter of fact, even pieces of furniture, such as a chair, will do the trick to get that toned body we want. That, plenty of drinking water and will power is all we need, Borges has said, while also showing the audiences on Heidi and Ellen just what one can do with a chair.

For starters, warming up is vital to us getting into that working out mood that so often eludes us. Start with jumping an imaginary rope and then running in place, with knees high up to the chest, Borges explains. Then, to adapt the awesome results of lounges with the mood we’re trying to get in, we should do jumping lounges, which will still have the same results but will also be more fun.

Next up, the chair. To tone the leg muscles and the abdomen, we should get up on the chair supporting the weight of our body on just one leg, while lifting the opposite knee high to the chest. Repeat for about 13 to 15 times and then switch legs, Borges also stresses, so as to work all the muscles. Even if brisk, the movements should not be forced, that is, if we really want to get the best of results.

Watch the video below to see Borges explain for himself how these exercises work. However, bear in mind that every fitness routine seems extremely easy before we actually take it up – this is a tip that all fitness experts offer their customers, to prepare them for when they’ll feel that their determination in sticking to it is wearing off.
