It's been an interesting few days for gamers in Japan, last week seeing the launch of Yakuza 4, which managed strong first week sales, and this seven-day interval witnessing a videogame chart dominated by Fist of the North Star Warriors, a beat 'em up title that is actually a spinoff from the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

When it comes to hardware, the PlayStation 3 has seen another week of very good sales, with more than 50,000 units moved to gamers, mainly on the strength of launches like Yakuza 4 and Fist of the North Star Warriors.

Sony is having a good period in Japan with the handheld PlayStation Portable enjoying a good week and succeeding in selling 46,449 units in seven days. Third place in the hardware sales chart goes to the Nintendo Wii home console, which shipped 36,849 units in one week.

The DS line up from Nintendo is occupying the next three places, the big screened LL version moving 23,188 units, the camera-powered DSi managing 17,376 and the older Lite slowing down to 4,995. The Microsoft made Xbox 360 sold a little over 3,000 units, selling better in Japan than the PSP Go and the PS2.

With Fist of the North Star Warriors from KOEI taking the first place in the videogame chart, Yakuza 4: Densetsu o Tsugumono is now in second, with sales of 83,187 copies in its second week on sales. Third place in the chart goes to Pokemon Ranger: Hikari no Kiseki from Nintendo and for the DS with sales of close to 50,000. New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii is in fourth place, while Tomodachi Collection is in fifth. God of War III from Sony succeeded in selling 43,181 units, while the Xbox 360 of Fist of the North Star Warriors managed 30,306.
