And we mean living and swimming fish, not the frozen or marinated ones at the mall

Sonars are used a lot to locate fish, whether alone or traveling in banks, but while such fish finders are straightforward enough in theory, they can be modified in a number of ways. Apparently, linking them to smartphones is the latest fad.

FishHunter is a smartphone-connected sonar that works like a bobber, floating in the water and tells your smartphone where fish are.

Sadly, since this is a Bluetooth-connected device, it means it can never go beyond 80 feet / 24 meters from your phone (on a special app).

At least the depth it can track fish at is of up to 100 – 120 feet / 30 – 40 meters.

One might argue that it's kind of a waste to use Bluetooth for this, since you're bound to tie the FishHunter with some fishing line anyway, to prevent it from drifting too far away, and you could replace that with an actual power cable and, thus, enable it to move farther from you if necessary.

At least you can track your catches via GPS, so you'll know where the sweet spots are later.
