MoFirst Solutions has just announced the upcoming availability of its affordable Android smartphone that can translate English to Indian regional languages.

Dubbed Firstouch A10, the handset is aimed at first-time Android users, but also at those regional and rural areas where users do not understand English.

Advertised as “world’s first regional smartphone,” Firstouch A10 has been designed by a group of IIT-B graduates, Mobigyaan reports.

MoFirst Solutions is a newcomer on the Indian smartphone market and the company has been founded by Rakesh Deshmukh, Akash Dongre and Sudhir Bangarambandi.

The smartphone is not yet available on the market, as MoFirst Solutions has confirmed that the Firstouch A10 will go on sale later this month for only Rs 6,000 ($100 / €70) outright.

Even though the Indian OEM claims that this is the world’s first regional smartphone, the handset will actually be released with support for only one Indian regional language, Gujarati.

It is also worth mentioning that Firstouch A10 will be initially launched in Rajkot, with other regions to follow soon next month.

MoFirst Solutions plans to have the smartphone tested for a few weeks and if everything turns out ok, it will added support for two more Indian regional languages: Hindi and Marathi.

According to the Indian company, Firstouch A10 should have support for all Indian regional languages by the end of the year, but a clear scheduler has yet to be unveiled.

The Indian OEM has also confirmed that the three key features of its Firstouch A10 will be the Swype technology, the Matra Keyboard and some of the Gujarati apps that come pre-loaded on the smartphone.

With the Matra Keyboard, users will be able to type Gujarati words and take advantage of predictive typing technology at the same time.

Apart from that, Firstouch A10 is pretty entry-level when it comes to specs. It offers dual-SIM support and comes packed with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

The smartphone also sports a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. On the back, the Firstouch A10 features a 2-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front, there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

The affordable dual-SIM smartphone comes packed with various connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB.

Other highlights of the Firstouch A10 include: FM Radio, 512MB of RAM, 4GB storage, microSD card slot (up to 32GB) and 1300 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
