The Chinese mobile developer TechFaith has fully developed its PC CDMA phone and it decided to launch it first in Latin America, more specifically Mexico. This is the first mobile of its kind, mainly due to the touchscreen and Windows Mobile OS, which have never equipped such a handset before.

The Mexican market choice was by no means a rushed one, knowing that studies are showing that the mobile sales growth in Latin America is of 6% per year, which may not seem much, but since the worldwide sales growth is on a descendant slope, the Latin market demand is already outpassing the global one by 2%. In any case, this new appearance means another worth-considering option for all Mexican users.

Wilson Cai, Deputy CEO for TechFaith, explains his company's market choice, "We're very pleased to ship the first pocket PC CDMA to Mexico[...]The shipment of this high-performing, Windows Mobile based pocket PC is a significant milestone for TechFaith. We expect the device to be very successful in the Mexican market."

This TechFaith handset offers a multitude of most appealing and interesting features among which 3G support, a 2.8'' touchscreen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, all of which operated using Windows Mobile 6.0 OS. Moreover, a music player, camera and, most importantly, the Office Mobile application are available. As we can easily conclude from the information above, this CDMA delivers high-speed Internet and, through its Office application, users have the freedom to personalize, play and share some of their files.

Arturo Diaz, director of the Mobile Business Unit at Microsoft Mexico explains the advantages of Windows Mobile, "Thanks to the Windows Mobile technology, users will be able to access such Office tools as Outlook, instant communication and entertainment applications through MSN Messenger, as well as photos, music, videos and games; also, they will be able to use it as a digital player with Windows Media Player, and even send and receive e-mail messages instantly, regardless of their location,"

Through the appearance of its OS on the Mexican market, Microsoft is hoping for a comeback, believing that the system is going to be fairly successful in the country. Furthermore plenty of explanations and advantages are added, as Diaz is trying to stress, in order to attract customers, "Information Technologies are changing everything we do today. Being connected anytime is a growing need. Users require tools that allow them to have information at hand in order to be more productive through constant communication and interaction. Because of that, Microsoft is searching for different strategic allies to provide its customers with new useful instruments for their everyday lives,"
