The first games to emerge from the deal between Konami Digital Entertainment and
Hudson Soft, created specifically for the
Nintendo Wii consoles, will be released in the first and second quarter of 2008. Fishing Master and Sports Island are the names and we're going to find out more about them right
now.
Fishing Master will make full use of the motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, while allowing users to test their angling skills as they attempt to catch over 100 species of fish. To be more specific, the players will cast the line using the Wiimote, trying to aim for the fish silhouettes in the water. Then, they will use the Nunchuk to reel - careful moves are needed, though, because every fish will have various fighting tactics in their quests to break free.
Many gameplay modes will be available, the first of them being the Tutorial. Single player mode will be available too for those who want to win the esteemed Fishing Master accolade by catching rare fish and earning points. Of course, the most fun will come when playing the multiplayer mode - four players can compete simultaneously in their quest to win by catching the rarest and biggest fish.
If fishing doesn't sound very appealing for you, sports must do the trick. Sport Island, the second game Hudson Soft is developing pulls together no less than ten sporting events (Beach Volley, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Curling, Figure Skating, Archery, Moto Cross, Snowboarding and Kart Race). All the games will use both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The games can be played in multiplayer mode, where up to four players can compete against eachother. Don't know about you, but we can hardly wait to get in the karts and start the race.
And everything will become possible soon. Quarter 1 for the fishing masters and Quarter 2 for the sport fans.
