One of the television series that’s been getting a lot of buzz online, especially in the blogosphere, is NBC’s “Hannibal,” which is a spinoff of sorts of the iconic film franchise with Sir Anthony Hopkins as lead.

Below is the first official trailer, make sure you check it out.

From what I can see, Hannibal Lecter will be just as twisted as in the big screen movies, inserting himself in an ongoing investigation on serial killers just for the kick of it.

The role made famous by Hopkins now goes to Mads Mikkelsen, who is making his US TV debut – and looks even more promising in motion than he did in the first promo photos.

Also starring in the series are Hugh Dancy as an FBI agent who will get up close and personal with Lecter, and Laurence Fishburne as his boss.

For the time being, only a first season of 13 episodes of “Hannibal” have been ordered. It will debut on NBC on April 4. Will you be tuning in?
