Since there's no better time to start promoting a horror film than around Halloween, here's the latest. Ti West, director of “The House of the Devil,” is about to unleash a new film, “The Innkeepers.”

The film premiered at the SxSW film festival, but it doesn't arrive in theaters until February next year.

Fans can get a first look at it with the trailer above.

Starring Sara Paxton and Pat Healy as two innkeepers at a haunted, ancient hotel that's about to close, the film basically tells the story of a haunting.

Since this is the last weekend that the hotel will stay open, the two decide to check to see if all those stories they heard about it being haunted are true.

Clearly, what they'll find will not be to their liking as the adventure they find themselves on has nothing to do with what they had in mind.

At first glance, “Innkeepers” looks like “just another cheap horror movie,” but some reviews online suggest we shouldn't dismiss it like that, since it also has a heavy comedy undertone that makes it sparkle.
